Yesterday, Lauren and Steph represented the Bassetlaw Food Insecurity Network (BFIN) at the Health and Care Award held in Nottingham. Best Food Forward has been a proud member of the BFIN since the collaboration started in 2022. The event was kindly hosted by Nottingham & Nottinghamshire ICS and the Lord-Lieutenant, and was attended by many organisations that are committed to supporting health and wellbeing across the county.

The BFIN was shortlisted alongside other fantastic projects, which included a Falls Prevention Project and another initiative that supported children with diabetes to get more active. BFIN were awarded the Health and Care Award for Prevention.

Lauren expressed her gratitude for winning the award, saying, "We are so proud to have won. It's fantastic to know that the local health, care, and voluntary sectors recognise the important role that food plays in prevention. The partners that make up the BFIN are doing an incredible job of supporting residents with their food needs through food hubs, community allotment sites, food education, and social eating events."
